Before you begin
You must have Admin access to the Attendance module in PlumHR.
Step 1. Go to Attendance Settings

Admin
>Attendance
from the left menu - Click the
Manage
tab - Click the 3-dot menu beside a policy
- Select
Configure
Step 2. Configure General Settings
- Choose settings like:
- Exempt employees from penalties for first few days
- Display late arrivals or missing swipes
- Allow project/task addition during clock in
- Set up shift-based alerts:
- Notify if employee hasn't clocked in/out within X minutes
- Notify if clocked in late
- Set AWOL rules (e.g., mark AWOL after 3 days of no logs)

Step 3. Configure Web Clock In

- Enable or disable Web Clock In
- Optional: Make comments mandatory during clock in/out
- Enable IP restriction (optional)
- Select allowed IP addresses for web clock in

Step 4. Configure Mobile Clock In
- Enable or disable Mobile Clock In
- Optional:
- Make comments mandatory
- Require approval for first clock in of the day
- Enable Geo-fencing
- Auto-clock in/out when users enter/exit location (optional)
- Select valid locations

- Enable time entry adjustments
- Choose who can adjust and how often
- Set limits for backdated edits
- Enable attendance regularisation
- Set frequency and backdate limits

1. Can I enable only one type of clock-in (Web or Mobile)?
Yes, you can enable either or both types depending on your company policy.
2 . What happens if I don’t set Geo-fencing or IP restrictions?
Employees can clock in from any location or network, which may not suit security-sensitive environments.
3. Can I apply different settings for different teams?
Yes, you can create and configure separate attendance policies for different employee groups.
4. How does auto-clock in/out work for mobile users?
When enabled, employees are automatically clocked in or out based on entering or leaving a geofenced area.
5. Do employees see which policy they’re assigned to?
No, employees won’t see policy names but settings like restrictions and notifications will apply to them based on assignment
