Before you begin

  • My People tab visibility and access to indirect reportees depend on the permissions granted to the manager.
  • If the manager has permission to view indirect reportees, they will be able to see both direct and indirect reportees on the My People tab.
  • If the manager does not have this permission, only direct reportees will be visible.

Step 1: Viewing Indirect Reportees (With Permission)

  1. With Permission to View Indirect Reportees:
    • If the manager has permission to view indirect reportees, both direct and indirect reportees will be visible on the My People tab.
    • Indirect reportees are users who report to someone else but still fall under the manager’s extended hierarchy (e.g., their manager's reportees).
  2. Viewing Indirect Reportees:
    • The manager can see a complete list of both direct and indirect reportees, allowing them to manage tasks, responsibilities, and other activities for all users in their extended team.

Step 2: What Happens Without Permission to View Indirect Reportees

  1. Without Permission to View Indirect Reportees:
    • If the manager does not have permission to view indirect reportees, they will only see direct reportees listed on the My People tab.
    • The indirect reportees will be hidden from view, ensuring the manager only has access to the direct team they oversee.
  2. Access Limitations:
    • Without the necessary permissions, indirect reportees will not be visible, and the manager will only have access to the team that directly reports to them.
