Request a Shift Change

Summary

 Employees can request a change to their assigned shift using the “Request Shift Change” form in the Rota section. This request is submitted for manager approval and visible on your rota calendar once processed.

Before you begin

You must be:
  • A registered employee with an active Plumm account
  • Assigned to a shift visible in the “My Rota” calendar
  • Using the desktop web app (shift changes not currently supported via mobile)

Step 1. Open the shift change form

  1. Go to Rota > My Rota
  2. Click the Request Shift Change button (top-right corner of the calendar)

Step 2. Fill out and submit the request

  1. In the From Date field, select the start date of your current shift
  2. In the To Date field, select the end date (same as start date for single-day change)
  3. Under New Shift, choose your preferred shift from the dropdown
  4. (Optional) Enter a Note explaining the reason for the change
  5. (Optional) Use the Notify field to select any team members to inform
  6. Click Submit to send your request for manager review

1. Can I request a shift change for multiple days?

 Yes, you can select a start and end date to request changes across multiple days.

2 . What if I don’t see the “Request Shift Change” button?

Ensure you’re on the “My Rota” tab. If it’s still missing, contact your system administrator.


 

3. Can I cancel or edit a shift change request?

Not currently. If you need to make a change, contact your manager or HR team directly.


4. Will I get notified when my request is approved or declined?

Yes, you’ll receive a notification in Plumm (and/or via email if enabled).

5. Do shift changes affect my leave balance?

 No. Shift changes are separate from leave requests and do not impact your time-off balance.
