Add Penalisation Policy
Summary
Add Penalisation Policy lets admins create a penalisation policy under Admin > Attendance > Penalisation. Penalisation policies define which attendance issues are penalised and which employees the policy applies to.
After saving, use Configure to set the detailed penalty rules and incident handling.

Before you begin
Attendance must be included in your organisation’s Plumm contract, and the Attendance add-on must be active.
You need the Add Penalisation Policy permission or SuperAdmin access to create a penalisation policy.
Using Add Penalisation Policy
Penalisation policies appear as cards on the Penalisation tab.
Each policy card shows:
- Policy title
- Description
- Assigned employee avatars
Use Add Policy to create a new penalisation policy.
Navigate to Admin Attendance
Go to Admin > Attendance > Penalisation.
The page title is Attendance.
Open the add form
From the Penalisation tab, select Add Policy.
The option is available when you have the required permission.
The Add Penalisation Policy form opens.
Complete the form
Complete the required policy information.
- Title – enter the policy title. The placeholder is Title. This field is required.
- Description – enter a description of the policy. The placeholder is Description. This field is required.
- Effective Date – select the date when the policy becomes effective. The format is DD/MM/YYYY.
If the Title field is empty, Plumm displays:
Please enter title.
An AI Generate option is available for Description.
The Description field also shows a character counter:

Select what to penalise
Under What do you penalise for?, choose the attendance issues that should be covered by the policy.
Available options include:
- No Attendance
- Late Arrival
- Work Hours Shortage
- Missing Attendance Logs

Assign reviewees
Use the Reviewees section to choose which employees the penalisation policy applies to.
The tooltip explains:
Select the individuals who will be reviewed. Choose 'All employees' for a company-wide review or 'Select by condition' to specify certain criteria or groups.
Available assignment options include:
- All Employees
- Select By Condition
- Select By Name
Use the shared user picker to complete the required assignment.
Save the policy
Select Save to create the penalisation policy.
After a new policy is created successfully, Plumm displays:
Penalisation added
When an existing policy is updated, Plumm displays:
Penalisation updated
If the policy cannot be saved, Plumm can display messages including:
- Title and Description are required
- Invalid User ID
- Invalid Company ID
- Something went wrong, Please try again
Check the policy details and employee assignment, then try again.
After you save
The new penalisation policy appears on the Penalisation tab.
Available actions can include:
- Edit
- Configure
- Delete
Configure requires the Configure Penalisation Policy permission.
Delete requires the Delete Penalisation Policy permission.
If there are no penalisation policies to display, Plumm shows:
Nothing to show here yet.
Use Configure after saving to set the detailed deduction rules and incident handling for the policy.
