Approve Overtime Requests

Summary

 Managers can review and approve or decline overtime requests submitted by their team members. This helps track additional work hours accurately and supports proper reporting and compensation.

Before you begin

To use this feature, you must:
  • Have manager-level access or permission to approve attendance/overtime
  • Be part of a team with active attendance tracking
  • Be logged into your Plumm account

Step 1. View overtime requests

  1. Go to Time > Team Attendance
  2. Click the Overtime Request tab
  3. Use the search or filter options to narrow down by name, date, or status
  4. Review the following request details:
    • Requested by
    • Overtime date
    • Total hours
    • Notes (if provided)
    • Request date
    • Status (Pending, Approved, Cancelled)

Step 2. Approve or decline a request

  1. Find the request marked Pending
  2. Click the three-dot icon (⋮) at the end of the row
  3. Select Approve or Decline
  4. A confirmation popup will appear
  5. Click Yes to confirm your action
Note: Once confirmed, your decision cannot be undone.

 

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. Who can approve overtime requests?

 Only users with the correct approval permissions or manager roles can take action on overtime submissions.
 

2. What happens after I approve overtime?

The hours will be logged in the employee’s attendance summary and available for reporting or payroll sync (if enabled).

3. Can I change the status after approval?

No. Once a request is approved or declined, it cannot be changed. Contact HR or an admin if a correction is needed.
 

  

4. Are employees notified?

Yes. The employee will receive a notification in Plumm and/or email based on your organisation's settings.
 

 

5.Can I export data for users without selecting them?

No, the Export function only works when users are selected. The Export button will remain disabled until at least one user is selected.
 

 

6.Can I add a note when approving?

 Not at the moment. You can only view the note added by the employee at the time of submission.
