Before you begin

Attendance must be included in your organisation’s Plumm contract, and the Attendance add-on must be active.

You need the Configure Penalisation Policy permission or SuperAdmin access.

Create the policy first using Add Penalisation Policy and select the penalisation types you need.

The options selected on the policy determine which steps appear in the Penalisation Setting wizard.

Using Configure Penalisation Policy

Penalisation policies appear as cards on the Penalisation tab.

When you have the required permission, the policy card includes Configure.

Use Configure to manage the detailed penalty rules for an existing penalisation policy.

Navigate to Admin Attendance

Go to Admin > Attendance > Penalisation.

The page title is Attendance.

Open the wizard

Open the three-dot menu (⋮) > Configure on the required policy card.

The Penalisation Setting wizard opens.

The available timeline steps depend on the penalisation types selected when the policy was created or edited.

Configure Basic Info

Basic Info is always shown in the Penalisation Setting wizard.

This section includes Penalty Deduction & Buffer Period settings.

Under How are penalties deducted?, the available option is:

  • Paid Leave – penalties are deducted from paid leave followed by unpaid leave.

Under Order of paid leave deduction, the available leave policies appear as a sortable list.

Reorder the leave policies to define the order in which paid leave should be deducted.

Select Next to continue.

Configure penalisation types

Additional steps appear according to the penalisation types enabled on the policy.

  • No Attendance – shown when No Attendance is selected on the policy.
  • Late Arrival – shown when Late Arrival is selected.
  • Work Hours – shown when Work Hours Shortage is selected.
  • Missing Logs – shown when Missing Attendance Logs is selected.

Later steps can include additional settings for adjoining holiday or week-off conditions and methods for applying penalties, depending on the enabled penalisation types.

Use Next to continue through the wizard and Back to return to an earlier section.

Save the configuration

Complete all available sections and submit the configuration from the final step.

When you save the Penalisation Setting for the first time, Plumm displays:

Penalisation setting added

When you update an existing configuration, Plumm displays:

Penalisation setting updated

After you save

The Penalisation Setting wizard closes after the configuration is saved.

The policy remains available on the Penalisation tab.

You can use:

  • Edit – update the main policy details, penalisation types, or reviewees.
  • Configure – reopen the Penalisation Setting wizard and update the detailed penalty rules.
