Department Goals Overview

Summary

 The Department Goals page in PlummHR helps managers and department heads track and manage the goals of their entire department. You can view all department goals, track overall progress, and update details in one place. This overview allows you to monitor how the department is performing against its targets.

Before you begin

  • You need access to the Department Goals section in PlummHR, which is available to managers and department heads.
  • Ensure that department goals have been assigned to team members to appear in the overview.


Step 1:Accessing Department Goals

  1. Go to Goals > Department Goals from your dashboard.
  2. You will see a list of all goals assigned at the departmental level, along with progress and last updated information.

Step 2: Viewing Department Goals and Progress

Under Department Goals, you will see the following columns:
  • Goal Title: The name of the goal.
  • Assigned To: Team members or teams responsible for the goal.
  • Progress: A visual progress bar showing completion percentage.
  • Last Updated: The date the goal was last updated.
Click on a goal title to view further details, including objectives, milestones, assigned team members, and progress.

Step 3: Adding New Department Goals

  1. Click the + Add Goal button on the top right of the Department Goals page.
  2. Choose the team or individual(s) to assign the goal to.
  3. Provide the following details for the new goal:
    • Goal Title
    • Description (optional)
    • Due Date
  4. Click Save. The new goal will appear in the Department Goals list.

Step 4: Managing Goal Updates

  1. Click on a goal to view more details.
  2. To update progress, click on the goal to:
    • Add comments or notes
    • Adjust the completion status
    • Edit the description or milestones
  3. Track progress using the visual progress bar in the Department Goals list.

    1. What information is displayed for each goal?

     Each goal shows:
    • Goal Title
    • Assigned team members
    • Progress percentage
    • Last updated date
     

     

    2. Can I track the progress of all department goals in one place?

    Yes, the Department Goals page provides a summary view of all goals, showing total progress and which goals need attention.
     

     

    3.How do I add a new department goal?

    Click the + Add Goal button, select the team or individual, and fill in the goal details including title, description, and due date.
     

     

    4.How do I edit or update a department goal?

    Click on a goal to view its details, then update progress, objectives, or descriptions as needed.
     

     

    5.Can I filter department goals by progress or last updated date?

    Yes, use the column headers for Progress or Last Updated to sort or filter goals.
     


    6.How do I view goals for specific team members within the department?

    Click on a goal and see the Assigned To section to identify responsible team members. You can drill down further if needed.
     

     

    7.Can I delete a department goal?

    No, deletion is generally handled by admins. Goals can be marked as complete or updated instead.


     

    8.How is overall departmental progress calculated?

    Overall progress is an average of all individual goal progress percentages, giving a snapshot of departmental performance.
