Edit (Active Users)

Summary

For managers, the ability to edit or check user profiles on the My People page, including by clicking the user profile picture or name, depends on whether the user is a direct or indirect reportee. If the manager has permission to view indirect reportees, they can edit and update both direct and indirect reportee profiles. Without permission to view indirect reportees, the manager can only access and edit the profiles of direct reportees.

Before you begin

  • My People permissions control which user profiles managers can access and edit.
  • Managers with permission to view indirect reportees can edit both direct and indirect reportee profiles on the My People page.
  • If the manager does not have permission to view indirect reportees, they will only be able to edit and check direct reportees profiles.

Step 1: Editing Direct and Indirect Reportee Profiles (Based on Permissions)

  1. With Permission to View Indirect Reportees:
    • If the manager has the appropriate permissions to view indirect reportees, they can click on the user’s profile picture or name to view and edit both direct and indirect reportee profiles.
    • This allows the manager to make updates to the profile information, such as job details, contact information, or role specifications, for both direct and indirect reportees.
  2. Without Permission to View Indirect Reportees:
    • If the manager does not have permission to view indirect reportees, they will only be able to edit or view the profiles of direct reportees.
    • Clicking on the profile picture or name will only open the profile for direct reportees, and no access will be given to indirect reportees.

Step 2: What Happens Without Permission for Indirect Reportees

  1. Limited Access to Direct Reportees:
    • Without the indirect reportees permission, the manager will only be able to edit or check the profiles of the users who report directly to them.
    • Indirect reportee profiles will be hidden from the manager’s view, and they won’t be able to make changes to those profiles.
