Before you begin
Attendance must be included in your organisation’s Plumm contract, and the Attendance add-on must be active.
You need the Attendance page permission in the Admin module to access Admin > Attendance.
Using Edit Penalisation Policy
Penalisation policies appear as cards on the Penalisation tab.
Use Edit when you need to update the main details of an existing penalisation policy before reviewing or changing its detailed Configure settings.
Navigate to Admin Attendance
Go to Admin > Attendance > Penalisation.
The page title is Attendance.
Open the edit form
Select the required policy card, or open the three-dot menu (⋮) > Edit.
The Edit Penalisation Policy form opens with the existing policy information.
Update the form
Update the required policy details.
- Title – update the policy title. The placeholder is Title. This field is required.
- Description – update the policy description. The placeholder is Description.
- Effective Date – update the date when the policy applies. The format is DD/MM/YYYY.
An AI Generate option is available for Description.

Update penalisation types
Under What do you penalise for?, choose the attendance issues that should apply to the policy.
Available options include:
- No Attendance
- Late Arrival
- Work Hours Shortage
- Missing Attendance Logs
Changing these options may affect which detailed settings are available when you next open Configure.
Update reviewees
Use the Reviewees assignment area to change which employees the penalisation policy applies to.
The Reviewees section uses the same assignment options available when adding a penalisation policy.
Update the required employees or groups, then continue to save the policy.
Save changes
Select Save to update the penalisation policy.
After the changes are saved successfully, Plumm displays:
Penalisation updated
If Save does not succeed, review the policy title, description, effective date, and reviewee assignment before trying again.
After you save
The Penalisation tab refreshes with the updated policy information.
Configure remains available from the policy card menu when you have the Configure Penalisation Policy permission.
Editing the main policy does not replace the separate Penalisation Setting configuration.
If you change the selected penalisation types, the available Configure steps may change the next time you open the policy configuration.
