Geo fencing Mobile

Summary

Geo Fencing Mobile manages location restrictions for mobile clock-in under Admin > Attendance > Geo Fencing > Mobile. Define named locations with map radius so employees can clock in from approved places on the mobile app.

Before you begin

Attendance must be on your organisation’s contract.

You need the Attendance page permission in the Admin module to open Admin > Attendance.

The attendance add-on must be active.

Using Geo Fencing Mobile

The Geo Fencing tab has a Mobile side menu item and a grid of location restrictions.

Navigating to Geo Fencing Mobile

Go to Admin > Attendance > Geo Fencing > Mobile.

The URL /admin/attendance?subtab=mobile opens the Mobile section directly when linked from Attendance Setting.

Viewing the location list

Grid columns: Name, Location, Range (displayed as {value} mts).

Search placeholder: Search.

Empty grid text: Nothing to show here yet.

Row three-dot menu: Edit, Delete.

Adding a location

Select Add Location.

Modal title: Choose Location.

Modal fields:

  • Name — placeholder Enter Location Name. Required.
  • Search Location — placeholder Search Location. Uses Google Places autocomplete.
  • Radius (in meters) — placeholder Enter Range Value. Required positive integer.
  • Map — select a point and set radius visually.

Select Submit.

Editing a location

Open Edit from the row menu or select the row.

Update fields on the map form and select Submit.

Deleting a location

Open Delete from the row menu.

Confirmation modal title: Delete Location.

Message: Are you sure you want to delete this? This action cannot be undone.

Select Confirm.

Linking locations to attendance policies

In Attendance Setting > Mobile Clock In, enable Enable Geo-fencing and select locations under Select Locations.

Link text: Admin -> Attendance -> Geo-fencing.

  • What unit is range in?
    Meters. The grid shows values with suffix mts.
  • Can I search for an address?
    Yes. Use Search Location with Google Places autocomplete.
  • Who can manage mobile geo fencing?
    Review required — confirm whether a dedicated permission exists beyond Attendance page access.
  • What if Submit fails?
    Check Name, Search Location, and Radius (in meters). Validation: Required field and must be a positive integer.
