How auto-reject works
Summary
Auto-Reject is a job-level setting that automatically checks new candidates against predefined requirements. Candidates who do not meet the configured conditions are rejected, and you can choose to notify them using a selected email template.

Before you begin
To use Auto-Reject, you need:
- Hire included in your organisation’s contract.
- Add a Job permission to configure a new job.
- Edit Jobs permission to update an existing job.
Important notes:
- Auto-Reject is available as a step when adding or editing a job.
- The timeline label is:

The switch tooltip shows:
- Set the minimum requirements applicants must meet. Those who fail to meet the criteria will be auto-rejected.
Opening Auto-Reject on the job
Open Auto-Reject settings:
- Open Jobs.
- Select Add Job.
- The modal heading shows:
- Add New Positions
- The modal heading shows:
Or:
- Open Edit on an existing job.
- The modal heading shows:

Complete the earlier job setup steps, then open:

Setting the conditions
Create Auto-Reject rules:
- Select Create New.
- Choose how conditions should match.
Available matching options:
- Match Any
- Uses OR between filters.
- Match All
- Uses AND between filters.

Setting notify and template
Configure candidate notifications:
- Turn on Notify Candidate if you want candidates to receive an automatic rejection email.
Tooltip on adding a job:
- Candidates will be auto-rejected upon addition and notified after the specified duration.
Tooltip on editing a job:
- For applicants who do not meet the above criteria, auto-reject them and notify them after the specified duration.
Notification timing options:
- 12 hrs
- 24 hrs
- 48 hrs
- 60 hrs
Complete email details:
- Templates

Additional option:
- Select Generate to create an AI-drafted subject.
Important note:
- If your contract is not live, rejection notification content is not sent.
- This rule also applies to other rejection emails.
Understanding what happens to the candidate
When a candidate is added:
- Plumm checks the Auto-Reject conditions.
If the candidate does not meet the requirements:
- The candidate is automatically rejected.
- The candidate stage changes to:
- Rejected
The audit text shows:
- {name} was rejected by the Auto-Reject condition based on predefined criteria.

- Does Auto-Reject run on candidates I add manually?
Yes. Candidates are automatically checked when added if Auto-Reject conditions are enabled on the job. - Can I turn Auto-Reject off?
Yes. Disable Add Auto-Reject Conditions on the job and save the changes. - Is Auto-Reject the same as Reject Candidate?
No. Reject Candidate is a manual pipeline action. Auto-Reject runs automatically based on job filters when a candidate is added. - What notification delay options are available?
Notify candidate in options are 12, 24, 48, and 60 hours for Auto-Reject. Manual rejection also includes Immediately.
