How screening works
Summary
Screening is a stage in the Plumm Hire pipeline used to evaluate candidates through video or text responses. Enable screening for a job, schedule candidates, and review completed screening results from the pipeline.

Before you begin
To use screening, you need:
- Hire included in your organisation’s contract.
- Schedule Screening permission to schedule screening.
- Reschedule Screening permission to reschedule screening.
Important notes:
- Screening questions are configured at the job level.
- Screening Method tooltip:
- When you trigger a candidate for screening, we'll send them a link to complete their video or text screening.
- Have email templates ready if you want to notify candidates.
Turning screening on for the job
Enable screening while creating or editing a job:
- Open Jobs.
- Select Add Job or Edit.
- The modal heading shows:
- Add New Positions
- Edit Positions
Complete:
- Details
- Job Description
Then open:
- Pipeline
- Screening
Screening appears when enabled.
Configure Screening Method:
- Answer Type is required.
Available options:
Video
- Candidates respond to screening questions through video.
- Suitable for evaluating communication skills and personality.
Text
- Candidates answer screening questions in writing.
- Suitable for evaluating written communication and analytical skills.
Set screening reminders:
- Use Send answers reminder.
- Available options:
- 1 Day
- 2 Days
- 3 Days
- 4 Days
- 5 Days
- 6 Days
- 7 Days
Save the job:
- Screening appears as a column in the pipeline.
Scheduling or moving a candidate
Start the screening process from the pipeline:
- Open the job pipeline.
- Drag a candidate card onto Screening.
- Or select Schedule Screening.
Plumm asks:
- What would you like to do?
Available options:
Move
- Moves the candidate to Screening without scheduling a screening.
- Does not send notifications.
- Candidate status becomes:
- Moved
Schedule
- Schedules the screening.
- Sends a screening email notification.
- Requires Schedule Screening permission.
- Modal heading:
- Schedule Screening
- Candidate status becomes:
- Scheduled
Additional options:
- Use Bulk Schedule Screening for Candidates.
- Add a candidate directly to Screening if the action is available.
Action menu:
- Shows Schedule Screening when you have the required permission.
Understanding the candidate experience
The candidate completes screening through the provided link.
Screening page:
- Page title:
- Screening: {job title}
Video screening:
- Candidate selects:
- Start Now
Text screening:
- Candidate sees:
- Thank you for your cooperation. Click "Get Started" to enter the screening round.
Candidate actions:
- Select Save & Next.
- Or select Save & Complete.
Important note:
- If the result page cannot be used, mark it for Review required. Do not assume inactive-link behaviour.
Reviewing the result
After the candidate completes screening:
- Candidate status changes to:
- Completed
Review screening results:
- Open Candidate Screening Analysis from the pipeline.
Candidate profile can show:
- Text Screening
- Video Screening
Overview Screening Report:
Filters include:
- Scheduled
- Completed
Report columns include:
- Scheduled On
- Scheduled By
Screening completion email:
- Sent to the recruiter.
- Subject:
- Screening Complete: {name} for {job title}

- Can I move a candidate into Screening without sending the screening link?
Yes. Select Move. The candidate moves to Screening with the Moved status. - What is the difference between Video and Text screening?
Video screening records candidate responses. Text screening collects written answers. The Answer Type is selected when setting up the job. - Who can schedule screening?
Users with Schedule Screening permission can schedule screenings. Reschedule Screening requires separate permission. - Does Auto-Reject run during screening?
Auto-Reject runs based on the job Auto-Reject conditions when a candidate is added, if Add Auto-Reject Conditions is enabled.
