Integration with Google: Verification Process & Safety

Integration with Google: Verification Process & Safety

We understand that when you try to integrate your Plumm account with Google to enable Google Meet for interviews and Gmail for sending emails from the hiring platform, you might see a warning that says, "Google hasn’t verified this app." This message is part of Google’s security measures to ensure that only verified apps have access to sensitive information.

What does this warning mean?

This warning indicates that the integration you are attempting is still under review by Google for verification. Google requires all third-party apps that request access to Google user data (such as Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Meet) to go through a verification process. This ensures the app meets Google's privacy and security standards.
Currently, our integration with Google is under review, and we have already submitted our app for verification. Until the verification process is completed, Google will display this warning to users attempting to connect their Google accounts.

Is it safe to integrate despite the warning?

Yes, absolutely. While the verification process is ongoing, rest assured that your data is completely safe. Our platform uses standard security protocols, and we do not store or misuse your Google account information in any way.
The integration allows you to:
  • Google Meet: Use Google Meet for conducting interviews, making it easier for you to schedule and conduct virtual interviews.
  • Gmail: Send emails directly to candidates from your integrated Gmail account, ensuring seamless communication through your official email address.
Both integrations are designed with privacy and security in mind. It is completely safe to proceed with the integration, and you can continue using Google Meet for interviews and Gmail for communication without any concern.

What data do we capture during the integration?

We understand how important data privacy is. Here's what data we capture when the integration is enabled:
  • We only capture the emails that are sent from the Hire module to the candidate. This includes the emails you or your team send to candidates through our platform.
  • When the candidate replies to those emails, we also read the replies sent directly to your Gmail account through our platform to show you and your team in the Candidate Overview and Message Module.
  • We do not access or read any other emails in your Gmail inbox. Our system is designed to respect your privacy and only interact with emails related to your hiring process.
This limited data access ensures that we are compliant with privacy standards while enabling effective communication and interview scheduling.

What happens once the app is verified?

Once Google completes the verification process, this warning message will no longer appear. The integration will be fully verified, and you will no longer see the "unverified app" warning message. You will be able to seamlessly integrate your Google account without any interruptions.

What’s next?

We are actively working with Google’s Trust & Safety team to resolve the verification process. We have already submitted all the necessary details and are putting forth our best efforts to get the verification completed as quickly as possible. We will notify you as soon as the app is fully verified. Until then, feel free to continue using Google Meet and Gmail integrations as usual.
