Before you begin

Ensure you have the required permissions to edit tax information for users. If a Manager has permission, only in this case can they edit tax details; otherwise, they can only view the information.
Make sure you have the updated tax details ready, such as the new tax code, National Insurance number, and any loan information.

Step 1. Log in and Navigate to Core

  1. Log in to Plumm using a Manager account or any user account with the required permissions to manage profiles.
  2. From the main dashboard, click on the 9 dots icon.
  3. Select Core from the list of options available.
  4. Once in the Core section, locate the People or User Management area.
  5. Find the user for whom you wish to add or update their bank details.
  6. Click on the Action button next to the user’s name.
  7. Select Edit to open the user’s profile.

Step 2. Edit Tax Information

In the user profile, follow these steps to edit tax information:
  1. Click on the Money tab within the user’s profile to manage financial details.
  2. Click on Tax Information to view the current tax details.
  3. Click on the 3 dots (options menu) next to the tax information you want to edit.
  4. Select Edit to modify the existing tax details.
  5. Update the following information as needed:
    • Tax Code: Enter the new tax code.
    • Calculation Method: Choose the method (e.g., cumulative, week 1/month 1).
    • Financial Year: Select the correct financial year.
    • Employment Status: Choose the employment status (e.g., employed, self-employed).
    • National Insurance Number: Enter the updated National Insurance number.
    • National Insurance Category: Select the relevant category (e.g., category A, B).
    • Student Loan: Select if applicable.
    • Post-Graduation Loan: Select if applicable.
  6. After updating the necessary fields, click Save to apply the changes.

1.Who can edit tax information for a user?

Only Managers with the appropriate permissions can edit tax information. If you do not have these permissions, you will only be able to view the information.
 

2. Can I edit multiple tax details for one user at once?

 Yes, you can edit all tax-related details at once by following the steps above and updating the necessary fields.


3.What should I do if I entered the wrong tax code or NI number?

You can edit the tax details at any time by following the same process and selecting Edit for the correct fields.
 

 

4.Can I delete tax information after editing it?

Yes, you can delete tax information by clicking on the 3 dots and selecting Delete.
