Overtime Requests: View, Edit & Cancel

Summary

 Use the My Attendance → Overtime Request area to see all your overtime entries, update hours/minutes, add notes, and cancel requests that are no longer needed. Actions are available per request and inside the activity log.

Before you begin

  • You need an active Plumm account with access to the Attendance module. If you don’t see it, contact your HR or system administrator for permissions.
  • You can only edit or cancel requests that are Pending. Once Approved (or already Cancelled) you’ll need to ask your manager/HR to make changes.

Step 1. Find your overtime requests

  1. Go to Time > My Attendance.
  2. Click the Overtime Request tab.
  3. Use the Search bar to filter by date, notes, or keywords.
  4. (Optional) Click the download icon to export the list for your records.
  5. Columns you’ll see: Overtime Date, Total Overtime, Notes, Request Date, Status, and 3 dot (actions) menu.
  6. Status badges include Pending (yellow), Approved (green), and Cancelled (red).

Step 2. Edit an overtime request

  1. From the list, click the next to the request and choose Edit (or open the request and use the at the top of the activity panel).
  2. In Edit Overtime, adjust Hours and Minutes using the dropdowns.
  3. Add or update Notes (rich text supported for bold/italic, lists and alignment).
  4. Click Submit to save.

Step 3. Cancel an overtime request

  1. From the request’s menu, select Delete (this cancels the overtime request).
  2. In the Cancel Overtime Request pop‑up, review the warning: This action cannot be undone.
  3. Click Confirm to finish, or Cancel to keep the request.

 

Step 4.Check the activity log & collaborate

  1. Click any overtime row to open the Overtime Activity Log.
  2. Review the header for Overtime Date, Overtime Hours, Notes, and the current status (e.g., The request is awaiting approval with timestamp).
  3. Use the message box at the bottom to chat with your manager/HR about the request.
  4. Use the panel’s menu to Edit or Delete the request directly from the log.
 

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. Who can approve my overtime?

Your assigned manager or an HR administrator with approval rights.
 

2 .Can I edit an approved overtime request?

No. After approval, updates must be done by your manager/HR. 


3. What happens when I cancel (delete) a request?

The request is cancelled and removed from your active list. This cannot be undone.
 

 

4. Why don’t I see Overtime Request in My Attendance?

 You likely don’t have access to the Attendance module. Contact your HR or system administrator to enable it. 

5.Can I track my overall hours while managing overtime?

Yes. At the top of My Attendance you can see Time Tracked (Worked/Break/Overtime) and your weekly Schedule summary for quick context.
