Team in Rota
Summary
Team is where admins create and manage rota teams in Admin Rota. A team groups employees who share the same rotation assignment.
Use teams when assigning rotations on the Rotation tab. For shift templates, see Shift under Admin - Rota.

Before you begin
Rota must be on your organisation’s contract. Admin Rota is available only when the rota add-on is active.
You need access to Admin Rota.
Plumm shows the Rota item in Admin when you have:
- The Rota Admin page permission.
- SuperAdmin access.
Rota Admin is not shown for the Mental Health;L & D package.
An employee can belong to only one rota team at a time.
Using the Team tab
Use Team to group employees for rotation assignment.
Teams do not assign shifts by themselves.
Published rotations apply shifts to team members on their My Rota calendars.
Navigating to Team
Go to:
Admin > Rota > Team
The page title is:
Admin Rota
Select the Team tab.
Viewing teams
The Team tab lists teams as cards showing:
- Team title.
- Description.
- Member count badge.
Use Search to filter the list.

Select the avatar group on a card to open a searchable list of member names.
Row actions on the three-dot menu (⋮):
- Edit
- Activity Log
- Delete
If there are no teams, Plumm shows:
Nothing to show here yet
Pagination shows:

Adding a team
Select Add Team.
The modal heading is:

If a selected employee is already on another team, Plumm opens:
Move User
Message:
The selected user is already part of another team. Would you like to move them from their current team to the new team?
Select:
- Confirm to move the employee.
- Cancel to stop.
Select Save.
Success toast:

Something went wrong, Please try again
Editing a team
Open:
three-dot menu (⋮) > Edit
or select the team card.
The heading is:
Edit Team
Update:
- Name.
- Description.
- Select Members.
Uncheck members to remove them.
Adding a member from another team triggers the same Move User confirmation.
Select Save.
Success toast:
Team updated
Deleting a team
Open:
three-dot menu (⋮) > Delete
The heading is:
Delete Team
Message:
Are you sure you want to delete this? This action cannot be undone.
Select:
- Confirm to delete.
- Cancel to close without deleting.
Success toast:
Rota Team deleted
Failure messages can include:
- Unable to delete the rota team.
- Something went wrong, Please try again.
Moving a user between teams
An employee can belong to only one rota team at a time.
If you select an employee who already belongs to another team, Plumm opens:
Move User
Message:
The selected user is already part of another team. Would you like to move them from their current team to the new team?
Select:
- Confirm to move the employee.
- Cancel to keep the current team assignment.
Using the activity log
Open:
three-dot menu (⋮) > Activity Log
The heading is:
Activity Log
While loading, Plumm shows:
- Loading.
- Activity loading.
If there are no entries, Plumm shows:
Nothing to show here yet
Activity titles include:
- Team created.
- Team updated.
- Team deleted.
If the team ID is invalid, Plumm shows:
Invalid Team ID
On load failure:
Failed to load activity logs

- Can one employee be on two teams?
No. Plumm moves the employee when you confirm Move User. - Are Name and Description required?
Yes. Both show Required field when empty. - Can I remove all members from a team?
You can uncheck members in Select Members before Save. At least one member may be required depending on your save validation. - Where are teams used?
Teams are used on Admin Rota Rotation when assigning a team to each shift in a rotation pattern. - Can I delete a team assigned to a rotation?
Deletion may fail if the team is in use. Review rotations before deleting.
