Use Login As (Impersonation Access)

Summary

The “Login As” feature allows authorised users to impersonate another employee for support or troubleshooting purposes. All actions performed are tracked as if done by the impersonated user.

Before you begin

This feature is permission-based and limited to select roles.
Access is restricted by these rules:
  • Admins cannot impersonate the Superadmin
  • Superadmins cannot impersonate Admins
  • The Wellbeing section is hidden during impersonation, even if the impersonated user has access to it
You must:
  • Be logged in with a role that has impersonation rights
  • Access the platform via web (not supported on mobile)

Step 1.  Access the Login As option

  1. Click your profile avatar in the top-right corner of the screen
  2. In the dropdown menu, click Login As
  3. A new panel titled Login As will appear on the right-hand side

Step 2. Select and impersonate a user

    1. Click the Select field to open the employee list
    2. Use the Search bar to quickly find a user by name
    3. Click the desired user’s name from the list
    4. A disclaimer will appear:
    “You are about to log in on behalf of another user. Any action you take or change you make will be done in this person’s name. Do you wish to proceed?”
    1. Click Yes, Continue to confirm and begin impersonation
    2. You will be redirected to the user’s dashboard with a visible header showing:
      • The impersonated user’s name
      • A Switch Back button to exit the session

    Step 3. Return to your own account

    1. While impersonating, click the Switch Back button at the top of the screen
    2. You’ll be returned to your own Plumm account and dashboard

    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

    1.Can admins impersonate the Superadmin?

    No. Admins cannot impersonate the Superadmin.

    2 .Can the Superadmin impersonate an Admin?

    No. Superadmins are restricted from impersonating Admin users.

     

    3. Will the Wellbeing section appear during impersonation?

    No. The Wellbeing section is hidden while impersonating another user, regardless of their permissions.

    4. Can I impersonate any employee?

    Only if you have the appropriate permissions. If a user doesn't appear in the dropdown, you may not have access.

    5. Are impersonation actions logged?

    Yes. All actions taken while impersonating are recorded as if performed by the impersonated user.
